Stop the traffic lights on Clachan Bridge

Post by Nick »

Clachan Bridge is a 234-year-old bridge that sits at the heart of our community on Seil.

For generations, it has been the lifeline connecting the slate islands of Seil, Luing and Easdale to the mainland. It is not just a crossing point, it is part of our daily lives, our history and our identity.

Year on year, the world famous bridge attracts thousands of visitors to our community, supporting our local economy and promoting our islands and our way of life.

We are deeply concerned that traffic light works are now underway without clear evidence being shared by Argyll and Bute Council, without proper assessment, and without meaningful community consultation.

Thanks for sharing.

If anyone is wondering once, you add in your details, you can choose not to display your name, if that is important to you.

Interestingly, down my way, the A702, will now have traffic lights at a cross roads which didn't need them, was not an issue, and zero consolation. We now have traffic backed up each side of the town, and greater pollution due to acceleration, rather than the steady state engine emissions from the 20 mph limit.

I don't know where these pricks get their ideas from. Possibly needing top spend money before the end of the financial year, I don't know.

The shitification of everything has even reached traffic lights now.
What's that? Dunno! Should we be worried about that? Dunno! How? Ah dunno!
