Re: Africa

I am heading to Norway (on another boat) from Inverness to Bodo, leaving around the 8th of June. It's been a few years since I last sailed in those waters, on the Banff to Stavanger race. Looking forward to it.

Re: Scottish Anchorages, Charles Warlow

No probs at least you shared info. I emailed Antares and Sir BB said that when they get back from surveying they will address the link. Apparently Charles Warlow has been in touch with Antares about Scottish Anchorages. It would be cool if you could click on the Antares chart and the relevant Scotti...

Re: New scottish anchorages website

Can you explain what the Antares compendium is? I just add the charts to Memory Map for All and update each year, I am not aware of anything else. Sounds like a good idea.

Scottish Anchorages, Charles Warlow

Scottish Anchorage's is a web site that describes anchorages and what to do around them. It is not a pilot book. the web page has useful descriptions, pictures, interactive maps and index arranged geographically. The web sit existed some time ago but fell into disrepair and was almost lost. The auth...

Re: Clyde Corinthian 1000 Guinea Pursuit Race

I have taken part in, and organized many corporate pursuit races. Having had to make insurance queries a purist race is very much a race, hence insurance premiums need to reflect the risk. Eventually, I settled on the term, along with others on the committee, “timed passages” and it pleased the insu...

Aros Bay Slip and Landing Now Open

Aros Bay is a lovely spot just around from Tobermory. There has been a ruined slipway, rails, sheds here for a decades. The slipway has now been repaired with a new floating pontoon added at the end. The pontoon is for tenders only, canoes, SUPs and such like. Although there are moorings in the bay,...

Re: Stop the traffic lights on Clachan Bridge

Signed. Thanks for sharing. If anyone is wondering once, you add in your details, you can choose not to display your name, if that is important to you. Interestingly, down my way, the A702, will now have traffic lights at a cross roads which didn't need them, was not an issue, and zero consolation. ...
